The Kingdom of God

I love the church. I really do. For many years I thought it was the most important thing about the christian life. I grew in it, I found community in it, I found inspiration there. Sure it came with a whole set of challenges, but at the heart of it church is truly the body of Jesus on this earth.

But more and more over the past 10 years I began to realise that Jesus didn’t come to earth to establish His church. He came to establish His kingdom – the righteous reign of God on earth as it is with Him in heaven. Church happens to be one of the most important outcomes of the kingdom being established. And Jesus is coming back for His bride, the church.

That said, our efforts ought to be in the right place: the establishing of the Kingdom. And there are a myriad of things that Jesus taught us to do in this pursuit. No single activity works in the richness of the life of Christ. We are to mature in walking through this life as bearers of hope, shining a light into the dark places, bringing the love of Jesus that significantly impacts the world and establishes His righteous reign. I hope you’ll enjoy the resources and articles you’ll find here.
